Applying liquid wax
Liquid wax step-by-step plan:
Liquid wax is very easy and quick to use. Liquid wax can be used to adjust the preparation of your skis or snowboard when weather conditions change and a different wax needs to be used at the last minute.
Liquid wax can also be used between runs to quickly re-wax the material. Liquid wax, due to its physical properties, accelerates the process much faster than regular wax.
Before applying liquid wax, it's important to keep it warm at approximately 20 degrees Celsius. Ensure the wax is liquid so it can penetrate the base best.
Here are the steps you need to follow for successful liquid wax application;
First, the base must be dry. If the liquid wax can be applied after hot waxing, brushing, and scraping, proceed to step 1.
If applying between runs in a race, first dry the base with a lint-free cloth and place the skis on their edge, away from direct sunlight. Once the skis are dry, proceed to step 1.
1 / Use an elastic band to secure the stoppers in the restrained position.
2 / Clean the base from front to back with a copper brush.
3 / Use a lint-free synthetic cloth to evenly distribute the liquid wax over the entire surface. Ensure every part of the surface is evenly covered and prevent the wax from pooling.
Let it dry for at least 15 minutes. The chemical reaction that occurs is very simple. The solvents in the liquid wax evaporate when exposed to oxygen, allowing the wax to penetrate the ski base. If you're waxing in a ski room, let it dry on the ski base overnight, if possible. This will yield better results.
Scrape off any excess wax remaining from the base.
4 / Brush with a nylon brush to polish. About 5 strokes.
5 / Brush with a horsehair brush to polish and shine the base. Use about 10 strokes. The bristles of the horsehair brush create an electrostatic reaction, improving performance.
